NorthWrite is the events arm of the NZ Society of Authors, Northland Branch. We started out in 2012 with the highly acclaimed writing conference, NorthWrite 2012: The Business of Writing. In 2013 we focused on collaboration and writers working with writers. This culminated in a collaborative writing competition, the winning entries of which can be seen here. In 2014 we provided a one-day series of workshops for writers covering a range of topics, and in 2015 we ran a small conference focusing on self-publishing for both commercial and family/community projects. In 2016 we ran a competition for Northland writers, the winning entries can be read here, and in 2017 we worked in conjunction with National Flash Fiction Day to present a workshop and readings. In 2018 held a one day conference and a short story competition.
